After months of the blistering cold winds and freezing temperatures, spring has finally sprung. And, before you know it, you'll be swapping your leather jackets for bathing suits!
Be warned though, as the soaring temperatures can damage your skin too! So make it a point to reassess your skincare habits, in order to be all geared up for the brighter days ahead.
So, if you plan on looking flawless in spring (and really, who doesn't?), here are some skin care habits to start with:
1. Exfoliate:
Make sure to exfoliate on a regular basis! You can opt the facial scrubs and masks which will remove the dead, dull and damaged skin cells revealing a healthier skin below. It’ll also help to brighten your complexion while getting rid of all the tan!
2. Use the right moisturiser:
During the warmer months our skin tends to hold more water so, as a rule, you don’t need as much hydration. Instead, swap out your heavy winter cream for a light moisturiser that will allow your skin to breathe.
3. Use good sun protection:
It's never a wrong time to think about upping your sunscreen game, is it? While the sun's UV rays can damage your skin all year long, they are harsher during spring.
4. Be regular with your eye-cream and lip protection:
Protect these delicate areas of your face with appropriate creams and lotions. You can keep using your regular eye-cream itself, but if it feels too heavy during spring, replace it with a lighter formulation or use the eye-cream only at night!
5. Opt for instant masks:
Nothing is healthier than a homemade face pack considering the organic products used in it!
For the ingredients:
- use curd and honey for dry skin,
- lemon and rose water based packs for oily skin
- lemon and honey for combination skin
6. Include more antioxidants in the diet:
Antioxidants interact with free radicals in your body and stabilize them to prevent any damage that they might cause. So, make sure you also take appropriate vitamin and mineral supplements, if required, after consultation with your doctor.
So, just follow these skin-care tips and say hello to a glowing skin in the summer!
